Avoid Tolls. Avoid Highways. Avoid Ferries. All fine and good. But where's the "Maximize Fun" option? You'd think technology would have solved this problem by now. You listening, big G? Until then, find your own route and Apex Everything.

I get the reference to G maps, but route and apexing are two independent things. Also, it's still possible to apex while driving a completely normal car, cycling and walking...so the infographic loses that effectiveness.

Basically only 0.35% of people on the streets might get it.

Blipshift tends to cater to that 0.35%. Do I expect anyone to get the "wagon wheel" Jalopnik shirt I was wearing today? No. But should I ever run across that one person, it'd be like finding a long lost brother. A knowing nod. A secret handshake. Screw the other 99.65%.

Ah, yeah. That post made me cringe a bit, especially when I realized I was at Costco in Georgia around that time, and had to really think 1) was I wearing that shirt that day? and 2) did I miss someone trying to talk to me?

Couldn't have been me, though. Throughout my three weeks in the South, I noticed people actually approach and talk to you. Nobody does that in California. Everyone keeps to themselves. I was shocked how many people just came up and started a conversation.

I wasn't wearing my shirt that day, and if someone came up to talk to me, I would have noticed. Because it's weird to me. I'll go back to living under my rock now, thankyouverymuch.
